TRY is issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and is a free-floating currency.2
IBAN is mandatory for SWIFT payments; local payments use BBAN and valid bank codes.3
SWIFT messages must use permitted characters: letters, numbers, spaces, and symbols / – ? : ( ) . , ‘ +4
Non-ASCII characters will be transformed to ASCII equivalent or removed on a best endeavours basis in order to comply with the restrictions of the domestic payment scheme.5
Non-supported characters will be transformed to EBCDIC equivalent or removed on a best endeavors basis in order to comply with the restrictions of the Swift payment network. The permitted characters on the Swift network are letters, numbers, spaces and the following symbols: / – ? : ( ) . , ‘ +
