New Zealand account numbers consist of a 2 digit bank code, a 4 digit branch number, a 7 digit account number and a suffix of 2 or 3 digits.4
SWIFT messages must use permitted characters: letters, numbers, spaces, and symbols / – ? : ( ) . , ‘ +5
Non-supported characters will be transformed to EBCDIC equivalent or removed on a best endeavors basis in order to comply with the restrictions of the Swift payment network. The permitted characters on the Swift network are letters, numbers, spaces and the following symbols: / – ? : ( ) . , ‘ +
